Getting started
What is a LifeAccount, exactly?
A private digital vault for everything important about your life — legal documents, insurance policies, identity records, passwords, letters, final wishes — kept ready for you while you’re here and for your family when the time comes.
Is my information actually private?
Yes. Every vault is encrypted at rest and in transit. Database access is gated by row-level security, which means even our own database can’t serve your data to anyone other than you. No staff has ordinary access to your information.
Can I try it for free?
Yes — the Minimum plan is free forever. It includes four essential vaults (Legal, Insurance, Identity, People), unlimited text entries in those vaults, and 5 file uploads up to 25 MB total. You can upgrade any time.
Plans and billing
What's the difference between Standard and Ultra?
Standard ($24.99/month) unlocks every vault and removes the file upload limit. Ultra ($64.99/month) adds Grace, your AI companion, plus the The Last Chapter, the Letter Vault (10 time-released letters), the Time Capsule, the Legacy Interview, and the AI Obituary generator.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes — any time. You’ll keep your Minimum vaults forever, and you can re-subscribe whenever you want. We don’t do contracts.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your Minimum-plan vaults stay exactly where they are. The data that required a paid plan stays in your account, just locked — if you re-subscribe, it’s all still there.
Executor & family access
Who can see my vaults?
Only you, until you choose otherwise. You can designate one or more executors. They’ll see a pending invitation in their own LifeAccount the next time they sign in. Until they accept and our death verification workflow confirms your passing, they see nothing.
What does my executor actually get?
Read-only access to every vault. They can see your will, your insurance policies, your final wishes, your letters — everything you’ve organized for them. They can never edit or delete it.
Can I designate more than one executor?
Yes. Many people designate a primary executor and a backup. You can revoke or change anyone, any time.
Letters and time capsules
How does the Letter Vault work?
You write a letter now — to a grandchild for their 18th birthday, to your spouse on an anniversary, to a friend for their wedding. You choose a delivery date or a triggering event. The letter is held encrypted until then. When the time comes, it’s sent to the recipient by email, signed in your name.
What if I want to change a letter before it sends?
You can edit or delete any letter as long as it hasn’t been delivered. Once a letter has been sent, it’s out — same as any letter you put in the mail.
Grace, your AI companion
Who is Grace?
Grace is your AI companion, available on the Ultra plan. She helps you fill in your vaults by asking thoughtful questions, drafts your obituary in three styles, and conducts the Legacy Interview — a guided 60–90 minute conversation about who you are.
Does Grace remember me between sessions?
Yes — your conversation history stays in your account. Grace picks up where you left off.
Is what I tell Grace private?
Yes. Your conversations are stored encrypted and gated by row-level security — only you can read them. Executors do not get access to your Grace conversations even after verification.
